Miami’s Wynwood Art District

Not long ago, Wynwood was an abandoned industrial district known mostly for crime and urban blight. But since 2009, it has been transformed into an international showcase for mural art, making it a quintessential place to visit in Miami.

Art and Fashion Districts
North of Downtown Miami and adjacent to Edgewater, Wynwood is home to art and fashion districts that are now international hotspots, making up one of the hippest neighborhoods in America.
Wynwood Walls International Art
Artists from Around the World. Wynwood boasts celebrated artists from United States, Brazil, Belgium, Mexico, Portugal, Ukraine, Portugal, Greece, Spain, Germany, France, England, Japan and Singapore.
Zika Virus Epicenter
Wynwood Walls became notorious as an epicenter for the Zika virus in August 2016. By September, Governor Rick Scott declared the neighborhood Zika free.
Graffiti Art
Wynwood Walls has become a major art attraction by showcasing mural art and graffiti on a framework and scale that has never been done before.

Giant Urban Canvases
The warehouses and exterior walls of the Wynwood neighborhood are enormous urban canvases that showcase the world’s greatest street art.

The Wynwood district was revitalized by Goldman Properties, which has been restoring blighted neighborhoods since 1968.

A Visit to Wynwood Walls
Every street in Wynwood has a unique attraction. There’s enough here to keep you occupied for an entire afternoon. Plus enough restaurants, galleries, and luxury shops to make sure you never have to leave.

IF YOU VISIT: Wynwood Walls is a neighborhood just north of Downtown Miami that is home to more than 70 galleries, museums and art collections.  Every second Saturday night the galleries and studios open to visitors for an evening “ArtWalk.”
