USA’s Lowest High Point – Florida’s Britton Hill

From the public park on Britton Hill, there’s an outline of gentle, rolling farmland in the distance. In fact, the nearby hills seem higher, and they’re certainly steeper.

But take it or leave it, Britton Hill is the lowest high point in the United States. At 345 feet above sea level, you won’t stand on any ground in Florida that’s higher.

Of course, there’s Sugarloaf Mountain on the edge of Lake Apopka, which is Florida’s tallest mountain. Its 312-foot summit on the Lake Wales Ridge is noticeably higher than the surrounding landscape.
